All of India’s airports have now declared their January passenger actuals and the results are excellent.
Domestic air travel in January was 4% points ahead of pre-pandemic 2019 while international air travel almost, but not quite, came in at the 2019 level. And of course domestic passenger volume in India is almost four times as big as international.
As ever there were considerable differences between the individual airports and today’s Air4casts air traffic bulletin examines this very Indian phenomenon. Any Travel Retail company relying simply on the two majors, Mumbai and New Delhi, may like to think again.
