This week’s Hainan report has been updated with the latest weekly Haikou Meilan airport passenger data for the week ended Wednesday 21 July 2021 and the monthly Hainan retail sales by category for June. All clients can download these reports which are updated weekly.
The airport handled 419835 passengers in the seven days to 21 July 2021, up 23% points on the same week in 2020 and down 5% on the previous week.
There were no international passengers flying in or out of the airport again last week. All flights continue to be domestic from the Chinese mainland only.
Notable in the retail sales report is the news that Cosmetics sales slipped slightly last month whilst the other major categories performed strongly.
